The Pentair IntelliChlor IC60 is a salt chlorine generator that makes all the chlorine a pool needs from common table salt. This listing is part number EC-521105.
How it works
Water carrying dissolved salt flows through the generator cell. Electrolysis converts the salt into chlorine, and that chlorine is returned to the pool where it sanitizes. Once it has done its job it reverts to salt and the cycle starts again. The result is the same sanitation as chlorine added by hand, without buying, handling or storing chemicals.
Running it
Output is set through five levels, chosen with a push button. The display shows salt level, cell cleanliness, sanitizer output and water flow at a glance, and full diagnostics track cell life and report the hours remaining in real time. On time cycling limits calcium and scale buildup on the plates, and an automatic shut off protects the unit when the water gets cold.
Automation
The IntelliChlor talks to Pentair IntelliTouch, EasyTouch and SunTouch automation systems. If you are adding automation and salt chlorination together, the two are designed to be commissioned as one system. The IntelliChlor power center is a separate item.
