The S.R. Smith 2HR-6-049-2 is a 2 bend stair rail, 6 feet long, with a 1 foot extension on both ends and a .049 inch wall thickness.

The 2 bend shape

A 2 bend rail follows the line of a set of pool steps, giving swimmers something to hold from the deck down into the water. S.R. Smith builds these rails in a wide range of lengths to suit almost any pool, so the length and the extensions need to be matched to the steps you have.

Material and finish

The rail is stainless steel. It can also be powder coated for additional protection, which is worth considering on a saltwater pool or a coastal site.

Before you order

Anchors and escutcheon plates are separate items. Check what is already set in the deck, because the anchor bore has to match the rail.

What does the 1 foot extension mean?
The rail carries an extra foot of tube on both ends beyond the bends, which is what drops into the anchors.
What is .049?
The wall thickness of the tube, in inches. S.R. Smith builds rails in more than one wall thickness, so match it to what the installation calls for.
Do the anchors and escutcheons come with it?
No. Anchors and escutcheon plates are separate items and are sized to the 1.90 inch outside diameter rail.
Can it be powder coated?
S.R. Smith lists these stainless rails as available powder coated for additional protection.
