Product details
SeaKlear commercial strength phosphate remover is a lanthanum chloride based liquid supplied in a 1 quart yellow bottle, part number 1040105.
What phosphates do to a pool
Phosphate enters the water from fill water, fertilizer runoff, leaves and some pool chemicals. It is a nutrient, and algae uses it. When the phosphate level climbs, the sanitizer spends itself fighting an algae bloom it should never have had to deal with, and the water goes dull no matter how much chlorine goes in. Stripping the phosphates out removes the food source instead of chasing the symptom.
Handling
SeaKlear lists a pH rating of 2 for this product, so treat it like any other acidic pool chemical: store it separately, keep it sealed, and follow the label directions for dosing and for filter cleanup after treatment.
