Product details

Natural Chemistry Instant Pool Water Conditioner is a liquid stabilizer, sold here in the 1 gallon size, used to protect chlorine from being burned off by sunlight. It starts working the instant it is added rather than waiting to dissolve.

Why the liquid form matters

Regular granular cyanuric acid has a pH of 2.8 and takes four to seven days to fully dissolve. During that time it can sit in the skimmer, on the floor or in the filter, and depending on how it was added it can damage the pool surface or the circulation system. This product is a salt rather than an acid, with a pH that is friendly to a pool, so it does neither.

Dosing

One gallon raises the conditioner level in 10,000 gallons of water by 32 ppm. For a fresh water start with no stabilizer present, divide the pool volume by 10,000 to get the gallons required. For a top up, test the level first, then add 4 oz per 10,000 gallons for each 1 ppm you need. Aim for at least 30 ppm, the recommended minimum for holding chlorine against sunlight.

How to add it

Shake the container well. With the pump running, pour it slowly into the skimmer, or walk the perimeter and pour it directly into the water, brushing afterward to speed absorption. Rinse the empty container with pool water and pour that in too.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

How much do I need for my pool?
Divide the pool volume by 10,000 to get the number of gallons for a fresh water start with no conditioner present. One gallon per 10,000 gallons of water raises the level by 32 ppm.
Will it damage my surfaces?
No. Regular cyanuric acid has a pH of 2.8 and takes four to seven days to dissolve, which is how surfaces and circulation systems get damaged. This product is a salt with a pool friendly pH, so it does not cause that damage.
How do I add it?
Shake the container well. With the circulation pump running, pour it slowly into the skimmer, or pour it directly into the pool while walking the perimeter, then brush to speed absorption. Rinse the container with pool water and pour the rinse in as well.
What level should I be aiming for?
At least 30 ppm. That is the recommended minimum needed to stabilize chlorine against sunlight loss. Test first, and to top up, 4 oz per 10,000 gallons raises the level by 1 ppm.
