Thio-Trine is the chlorine neutralizer from Applied Biochemists, part number 401115, in the 20 oz bottle. It has one job: bring a pool with too much chlorine or bromine back down to a level people can swim in.

Why it saves a weekend

Sanitizer runs high for ordinary reasons. A shock treatment goes in heavier than intended, a feeder gets left open, or an automatic system runs on while nobody is using the pool. Left alone the level falls on its own, but that can take days, and in the meantime the pool is out of service. Thio-Trine reduces the sanitizer directly so you do not lose that time.

Using it

Test first so you know how far above target you actually are, and dose to the reading rather than by eye. Retest after the water has circulated. Overshooting leaves you with a pool that has no sanitizer at all, so it is better to work down in steps than to correct once and hope.
