Jack's Magic The Magenta Stuff is a 32 ounce metal and stain solution for pool start ups and for ongoing stain and scale control. One quart treats 15,000 gallons.

Dosing

The initial treatment is a full quart per 15,000 gallons of water. After that, keep it working with 6 to 8 ounces per 15,000 gallons weekly. Skipping the weekly dose is the usual reason a pool that came clean starts staining again.

Start ups and new plaster

This is a start up product as much as a corrective one. On a fresh plaster pool it helps control plaster dust while protecting the new finish from staining and scaling, which is the window when both problems are easiest to prevent and hardest to undo.

Salt pools

It is effective across all pool sanitizer systems, salt chlorine generators included. On a salt pool it helps clean the cell and prevent scale building on the plates, which is the single biggest factor in how long a cell lasts. It also does not yield phosphates, so it will not feed an algae problem while it works.
