Why metals stain
Iron, copper and other minerals arrive in fill water, in some source water, and from corroding equipment. In solution they are invisible. When chemistry shifts they drop out and bond to plaster and tile, which is when you see the brown, green or gray patches that will not brush away. A metal control product holds those minerals in solution so they never reach the surface.
Dosing
The initial dose is one quart per 10,000 gallons, which is exactly what this bottle holds. After that, maintenance runs at 6 to 8 ounces per 10,000 gallons weekly.
