Stain Solution #2, The Copper and Scale Stuff, is Jack's Magic part JMCOPPER5, supplied as a 5 lb pail. It removes copper stains and scale from all types of pool surface without draining the pool.

Instead of an acid wash

The usual answer to heavy copper staining and scale is draining the pool and acid washing it, which costs a full refill, takes the pool out of service and takes a layer off the plaster every time it is done. Jack's Magic states that in most cases this product is more effective than acid washing and saves both time and money, with the water left in place.

Before you start

The heater must be bypassed while this product is in use. Confirm the staining is copper or scale rather than another metal or an organic stain, since the range carries different solutions for different stain types and matching the product to the stain is what makes the treatment work.
