Why less goes further

Dosing
In a DE filter, add one DE scoop of fiber for every 12 square feet of filter area. In a cartridge filter, add three ounces by weight per 25 square feet of filter area. In a sand filter, add three ounces by weight at a time, with a maximum addition of nine ounces by weight.
Where it helps most
Sand filters pass fine particles that a fiber charge will hold, and a cartridge that is clean but no longer polishing the water will pick up noticeably with a small dose. Start at the low end of the range and add more only if the water still is not clearing.
