Quick overview
- 93.2% sodium bisulfate The dry acid that does the work, at a stated strength.
- Granular, not liquid Easier and cleaner to carry, measure and store than a jug of liquid acid.
- Lowers pH steadily Brings pH down slowly and effectively rather than crashing the water.
- Helps the sanitizer work Chlorine loses effectiveness as pH climbs, so holding pH in range gets more out of what you already add.

Product details
Pool Season pH Down is a granular dry acid in a 5 lb pouch, 93.2% sodium bisulfate. It lowers the pH of pool water slowly and predictably, and it is the usual choice for owners who would rather not carry and pour liquid acid.
Why pH matters
Chlorine gets weaker as pH climbs, so water that sits high is quietly wasting the sanitizer you are already paying for. High pH also pushes water toward scaling, which shows up as rough deposits on the tile and, less visibly, inside the heater and the filter. Bringing pH back into range is one of the cheapest corrections in pool care.
Handling
Granular acid is easier to store and easier to measure than a liquid, and it goes into the water without the splash risk of pouring from a jug. Add it as directed for your volume, let the water turn over, and retest before adding more. It is a dry acid, so keep the pouch closed and dry between uses.
