Product details
Pool Season stabilizer and conditioner, part 47251350, in a 5 lb pouch. It is 100% cyanuric acid, with nothing else in the bag.
What it does
Sunlight destroys free chlorine. Cyanuric acid holds a portion of that chlorine in a form the sun cannot break down as quickly and releases it back into the water, so the chlorine you add lasts longer and you use less of it over a season. The ideal level for this product is 40 ppm.
How to use it
Test first. Stabilizer does not burn off the way chlorine does, so it leaves the pool mainly through splash out, backwashing and rain overflow, and it climbs if you keep adding without testing. Apply as directed and it dissolves completely. This listing is the 5 lb pouch; the product is offered in other sizes.
