Product details

Pool Season chlorinating concentrate is a stabilized granular chlorine sold in a 25 lb bucket. The active ingredient is sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione dihydrate, with 56 percent available chlorine.

Sanitizer or shock

The same product covers both jobs. Used at a routine dose it is the pool sanitizer. Used at a heavier dose it is a shock treatment, for clearing water that has gone dull or for recovering after heavy bather load or a storm.

Stabilized and quick dissolving

Stabilized means the chlorine is protected against being burned off by sunlight, so more of what you add stays in the water. The granules dissolve quickly, which matters on vinyl and painted surfaces where undissolved product sitting on the floor can cause trouble. Because a stabilized product adds cyanuric acid every time it is used, watch the stabilizer level over a season if it is your only chlorine source.

What is the active ingredient?
Sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione dihydrate, listed with 56 percent available chlorine.
Is this a sanitizer or a shock?
Both. It is sold for use as the primary sanitizer and as a shock treatment.
Will it work in my pool?
It is listed for all pool types.
Does it add stabilizer to the water?
Yes. It is a stabilized chlorinating concentrate, so cyanuric acid comes along with the chlorine. Keep an eye on your stabilizer reading if this is the only chlorine the pool gets.
