Pool Season Phosphate Control is a concentrated phosphate remover for swimming pools, supplied in a one quart bottle.
Why phosphates matter
Phosphates are the nutrient algae grows on. Water can hold a correct chlorine reading and still go green if phosphate levels are high enough to feed a bloom faster than the sanitizer can knock it down. Bringing phosphates down removes the food supply, which is why phosphate control reads as prevention rather than as a cure.
Salt pools
On a salt chlorine generator the case is stronger still. High phosphate levels make the cell work harder for the same result, so owners often read low output as a failing cell when the water chemistry is the real cause.
Dosing
