Leisure Time Spa Down is a 2.5 lb container of fast dissolving sodium bisulfate granules that bring pH and total alkalinity down in spa and hot tub water.
When to use it
Spa water should sit between 7.2 and 7.8 pH. Above 7.8, scale starts forming on the shell and the heater, the water goes cloudy or takes on a color, and the sanitizer you are paying for becomes noticeably less effective. Spa Down is the correction for that reading.
How to dose it
Turn the equipment off and pour a quarter ounce directly into the water for every 500 gallons in the spa. Switch the circulation back on for 30 minutes, then retest. If the pH is still above 7.8, repeat the same step rather than doubling up on the first dose. Always read the product label and follow the directions on it.
