Leisure Time Spa Foam Down is a concentrated defoamer for hot tubs and spas, supplied in a 1 quart bottle. It is poured onto foam and clears it as soon as it touches the surface.
How to use it
Shake the bottle first, then pour roughly half an ounce straight onto the foaming area. That is usually enough. If any foam is left, repeat with another small dose rather than emptying half the bottle in. Give it 15 minutes before anyone gets back into the water.
Why spa water foams
Foam builds from soaps, lotions, detergents from swimwear and body oils that collect in hot, aerated water. Foam Down handles the foam itself and leaves no oily feel behind. It works in chlorine, bromine, ozone and biguanide spas, so it is not tied to one sanitizer program.
Treat repeat foaming as information. If the spa foams again within days of every dose, look at calcium hardness, which is often low, and consider whether the water has done its time and needs to be drained and refilled.
