The Natural Chemistry 17404NCM Salt Water Magic Monthly Kit is a one month treatment for pools with salt chlorine generators. It pairs a 33.9 oz bottle of Salt Water Magic with a 33.9 oz bottle of Cell Protect, enough for a pool of up to 20,000 gallons.

What each bottle does

Salt Water Magic is a phosphate remover that Natural Chemistry says brings phosphate levels of up to 300 ppb down to near zero. It also carries naturally based enzymes that break down non-living organic buildup in the water, on pool surfaces and in the filter, which helps with the waterline ring. Cell Protect combines a scale inhibitor with a chelating metal deactivator. The inhibitor works against calcium and mineral buildup on the generator cell and equipment, which Natural Chemistry calls the number one problem for generator performance, and the deactivator helps prevent metal stains. Cell Protect adds no phosphates.

How to use it

Start with a clean or backwashed filter and sanitizer below 5 ppm. Pour the Salt Water Magic into the skimmer with the pump running, and pour the Cell Protect evenly around the edge of the pool. Leave the filter alone for 48 hours. After Cell Protect, wait 24 hours before adding other products, since clarifiers or algaecides added at the same time can cloud the water for a while.

Sizing and cautions

Use one bottle of each product per 20,000 gallons every month. If calcium hardness is above 400 ppm, increase Cell Protect to one bottle per 10,000 gallons. Both products are meant for balanced water and are not for pools that use biguanides.
