The Maytronics 99954307-R1 is the 70 micron filter bag for the DX3 and DX4 robotic pool cleaners. It is the genuine Maytronics replacement.

Why the bag rating matters

A robotic cleaner only holds what its filter can catch. At 70 micron this bag is on the fine side, which is what stops silt, pollen and fine dirt from passing through the machine and settling back on the floor an hour later. The trade off with any fine media is that it loads up sooner, so it wants rinsing after most cycles.

When to replace

Filter bags are consumables. Once the fabric thins, the seams open or the bag stays grey after a wash out, it is no longer filtering to its rating and the cleaner starts leaving a haze behind. Keeping a second bag on hand means the cleaner can go back in the water while the first one dries.
