What the frame does
The chassis is the structure the whole cleaner is built around. Drive assemblies, brushes, the filter section and the shell panels all locate off it. Once it is cracked or distorted, the cleaner may still run but it wanders, climbs badly or drags a track, because the geometry the machine relies on has shifted.
When you need one
This is an impact repair rather than an electrical one. A cleaner dropped on the deck, driven over, or crushed in storage is the usual case. If the fault is that the cleaner will not start or will not climb, look at the power supply and drive motor first.
