The PAL Lighting Sonar retro bulb is a multi-color replacement lamp with a standard base, supplied with its own remote. It drops into many existing pool light housings in place of the original bulb.
Color without a new fixture
Retrofit bulbs exist so a pool with an older white light can get color without pulling the niche and running new conduit. This one covers both ends of that: it will run as plain white light, and it will run full color shows, from the same lamp.
The sonar remote
Controlling a light that sits underwater is the awkward part of any color retrofit. PAL uses a patented sonar remote, so the command travels through the water itself rather than needing a clear line of sight to the fixture. For pools already running automation, the bulb also offers OEM color cloning for Hayward®, Jandy and Pentair systems, so it can follow the color modes the controller already knows.
Before ordering
Check your fixture voltage. The source lists this lamp as 120V in the product name and as 110v in the feature list, and we have carried both here rather than choosing between them.
