Product details

The PAL Treo Max is a multi color nicheless LED light for pools and spas, supplied here with an 80 ft cable and a plug. It runs on 12 volts and carries part number 64-EGTMX-V2-080.

Nicheless

A traditional pool light sits in a large wall niche that has to be built into the shell. A nicheless light does not, which opens up spas, water features and older pools that were never poured with a niche, and gives a much smaller opening to work with.

Low voltage and cord length

At 12V the light works from a transformer, not from line power directly. The cord is 80 ft and it is not something you extend casually, so measure the actual run from the light position back to where the transformer will live before you order. The length is baked into the part number.

Color

This is the multi color version, so the light changes color rather than sitting on plain white. You will also see the same light listed as 64-EGTMX-80.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Does it need a transformer?
Yes. It is a 12V light, so it runs from a low voltage transformer rather than from 120V line power.
What does nicheless mean?
The light mounts without a conventional wall niche. That is what makes it workable in spas and in pools that were never built with a niche to begin with.
How long is the cord?
80 ft, ending in a plug. Measure from the light position back to the transformer before settling on a cord length, since the length is fixed by the part number.
Is this a white light or a color light?
Multi color. The Treo Max in this listing is the color changing version.
