API Revive Pool Phosphate and Algae Remover, 32 oz, REV32

API Revive is a single treatment that does the work of a phosphate remover, a metal treatment and a clarifier. It takes phosphates (the food algae lives on), copper and iron, scale forming carbonates and organic debris out of the water, which is what clears a cloudy pool and keeps it from turning again.

Where it fits

It is formulated for new pool startups, replaster and remodel refills, spring openings, abandoned pools, severe algae cleanups and routine maintenance. It suits well water, which tends to bring metals in with it, and soft sided pools at startup. It works with every pool chemical, sanitizer and finish, needs no pre-balancing or pre-treatment, and will not cloud the water or stain the deck.

Three ways to apply

Startup, on an unfilled pool: take off the spray applicator and pour the bottle into the deep end as filling starts, 32 oz per 24,000 gallons. Clean up, on a filled pool with phosphate buildup, algae, metals or scale: brush and shock first, switch the pump off, attach a garden hose and spray the full bottle over the surface. Let it settle for a day or two, vacuum to waste, then filter for 24 hours. Maintain: with the system running, spray over the surface twice and repeat weekly.

Tips

Badly contaminated pools usually need two or more bottles. Give it more time in cold water. It cannot be overdosed, so more product simply removes more. If particles collect on the surface, a spray from the garden hose breaks them up.
