Use

S.R. Smith says the belt must be used during each use. To fasten it, thread the loose end through the buckle, pull it tight and press the latch down on the belt. To release, lift the latch and pull the loose end free.

Cleaning and replacement

Rinse the belt with fresh water between uses and disinfect it daily with a 1:100 solution of household bleach in fresh water, then rinse. After a contamination incident, soak it in the solution for 10 minutes. The manuals say not to use a belt that is damaged or worn, so keep a spare on hand.

When should I replace a pool lift seat belt?
S.R. Smith says not to use the belt if it is damaged or worn. Replace it as soon as the webbing frays or the latch will not hold.
