Product details

The S.R. Smith SR-100-MG is a residential spa rail: a stainless steel ring handrail welded to a mounting plate that fastens to the deck. It gives bathers something solid to hold as they step in and out of the spa, and this version is made from 316L marine grade stainless steel.

Construction

The rail is bent from 1.625 in. OD tubing with a .049 in. wall, and its bends are formed on a 6 in. radius. S.R. Smith offers the spa rail in type 304 or 316L stainless. The -MG on this part number identifies the 316L marine grade version, and the rail is marked salt friendly.

Installation

Are mounting bolts included?
Plan to supply them. The rail needs four mounting bolts, and S.R. Smith says to select them for your site, since the right bolt depends on the deck it goes into.
What does -MG mean?
Marine grade. S.R. Smith builds the spa rail in type 304 or 316L stainless steel, and -MG on the part number marks the 316L marine grade version.
Can I use it on a saltwater spa?
Yes. It is the 316L marine grade version and is marked salt friendly, so it is the version suited to salt water.
How is it installed?
It is a deck mounted rail. The ring handrail is welded to a mounting plate, and the plate is fastened to the deck at the spa with four bolts.
