Product details

The Hayward GVA-24 is a 24V valve actuator with a 15 ft. cable. It is the piece that turns a manual 3-way valve into an automated one.

How it works

The actuator is a motorized head that retrofits onto the top of a 3-way valve. The valve itself and its plumbing stay exactly where they are. When a controller sends the signal, the actuator rotates the valve to the position it was told to take.

What it buys you

This is the hardware behind every convenience people expect from an automated pool. Switching between pool and spa, diverting flow to solar panels, running a water feature on a schedule: each of those is a valve that has to move, and this is what moves it.

Installation notes

The actuator comes with 15 feet of cable, which covers the run from the equipment pad to most valve positions. It needs a 24V low voltage supply from the controller.

What does a valve actuator do?
It is a motorized head that sits on a 3-way valve and turns it for you. A controller sends the command and the valve rotates, so pool and spa mode or a solar diversion happens without anyone at the equipment pad.
