The Hayward Local Display Replacement for PL-P-4 Goldline Pro Logic Automation and Chlorination, GLX-PL-LOC-P-4 is the local display for the Goldline Pro Logic PL-P-4 system. It is a Brand OEM Hayward part, and it is the readout and keypad at the Pro Logic enclosure itself.

What it does

When the local display goes dark, fades or stops responding, replacing it restores control at the equipment pad without replacing the rest of the system. It is the display only, not the main circuit board and not the transformer. A local display is the one at the Pro Logic enclosure, as opposed to a remote display mounted elsewhere on the property.

How the board uses the display

Hayward's service sheet for the Pro Logic main circuit board explains that the board checks which local display is connected and adjusts Pro Logic features to the model type: P-4, PS-4, PS-8 or PS-16. If no display is connected, or the display does not answer the board, the board assumes a P-4. Once the display is installed or fixed, cycle power off and back on so Pro Logic checks it again.

Before you order

Confirm that your system is the PL-P-4 and that the display is the failed part. Hayward's guide says to turn all circuit breakers off before working in the enclosure, and to remove the local display by pulling it up and unplugging its cable.
