Product details

The Unicel FG-1248 is a vertical DE filter grid in the Purex style, rated at 48 square feet of filter area. It measures 10-3/4 in. across by 25-3/8 in. tall and is listed under the 24 in. grid size.

What the grid does

Grids stack inside the assembly of a DE filter. Each one is a fabric covered frame, and the diatomaceous earth coat that clings to that fabric is what actually filters the water. When the fabric tears or the frame cracks, DE blows straight through into the pool and the filter stops behaving the way it should.
