The Unicel PG-1905 is the small partial grid used in 60 square foot DE filter grid sets built around 30 inch tall grids. It measures 9-3/4 inches by 30 inches and is sold one grid at a time.
Full grids and the partial
A DE filter holds a ring of grids around a central manifold. Most of them are full width, but the geometry leaves one narrow gap, and that is what the partial grid fills. Because it is a different size from the rest, it carries its own part number and has to be ordered as itself rather than as another full grid.
When to replace
Grids fail by tearing at a seam or wearing through the fabric, usually after years of pressure cycling and rough cleaning. The symptom is DE blowing back into the pool through the returns shortly after a fresh charge. If the set is old enough that one grid has gone, look closely at the others while the filter is open, because they have all done the same hours.
