The Filbur FC-9230 is a full size DE filter grid rated at 36 square feet, built for Purex and Pentair bottom manifold filters.

Fit and compatibility

The FC-9230 fits Purex and Pentair SM2036, SMBW2036, SM4036 and SMBW4036 DE filters. It measures 10-3/4 inches wide by 19-3/8 inches tall and uses a bottom manifold design, where a nipple molded onto the grid seats into the manifold at the base of the filter tank. It is also listed as Unicel FG-1236 and Pentair 074923 for the same filters.

Rebuilding a full set

These filters use 8 identical grids to make a complete set. When one grid in a filter fails, most installers replace the full set of 8 rather than mixing an old grid with a new one, since older grids tend to fail again soon after a partial rebuild.
