Product details

The Unicel PG-1902 is the small partial grid used in 24 square foot DE filter grid sets. It is a replacement grid, not a factory branded part, built to fit the same assembly.

Where the small grid sits

A DE grid set is not made of identical panels. The assembly is filled out with large grids, seven of them in a 24 sq. ft. set, and one narrower partial grid that completes the circle. This is that small grid, so a single one goes into each filter assembly.

When to replace a grid

The fabric on a DE grid is what holds the powder. Once it splits, DE passes straight through to the pool and comes back through the returns however carefully you charge the filter. Since grids in a set age at much the same rate, it is worth inspecting all of them while the assembly is out rather than replacing one at a time.

Is this the small grid or the large one?
The small partial grid. A 24 sq. ft. assembly uses one small grid and seven large grids, and the large grid is a separate part number.
How many do I need?
One per filter assembly. If you are rebuilding a full set, you need one of these plus the seven large grids.
Is this a genuine factory grid?
No. It is a Unicel replacement grid built to fit the same assembly, which is why it is described as generic.
How do I know a grid has failed?
DE returning to the pool through the returns after a clean backwash and recharge usually means a torn grid or a bad manifold seal. Pull the assembly and look for splits in the fabric.
