Product details

The Unicel PG-1904 is the small partial vertical DE grid used in 48 square foot DE filters. It measures 9-3/4 inches by 24 inches and is sold individually.

Where the small grid sits

A DE element pack is not a set of identical grids. Most 48 sq ft filters use several full width grids plus one narrower partial grid to fill out the circle inside the tank. This is that narrower one, so count what you are replacing before ordering rather than assuming every grid in the pack is the same.

Why a torn grid ruins the water

The grid itself does not filter. The layer of DE powder held against its fabric does. Once the fabric splits, powder blows straight through into the pool and the water stays cloudy however carefully you charge the filter. Owners often chase chemistry for weeks before opening the tank.

The same size is used across 48 sq ft filters from Pentair PacFab, Hayward® and Waterway, so check your filter model and the grid dimensions against the part before you order.

Is this the full size grid or the small one?
The small one. PG-1904 is the partial or small vertical grid, 9-3/4 inches by 24 inches. The full size grid in the same 48 sq ft set is a separate part.
