Product details
The Unicel FG-1004 is the large 48 square foot vertical DE filter grid, 11 inches by 24 inches, sold one at a time. A complete set uses seven of them, so count what is in your tank before you order.
How it is built
The grid has a reinforced center core, which is what keeps it in shape while the pump pushes water through it. Over that goes polypropylene cloth chosen for its resistance to mildew and rot. The seams are stitched with chemical resistant heavy duty string and then sonic welded, so they hold instead of fraying open and letting DE through into the pool.
Where it fits
This is the vertical DE grid pattern used across American, Hayward, Pac-Fab, Sta-Rite and Jandy DE filters. The matching small grid is a separate part, so a full rebuild usually means ordering both sizes.
