This is a solid rectangular winter cover for a 30' x 50' inground pool, cut 35' x 55' so it carries a 5 ft overlap on every side. It is warranted for 10 years under the Royal program.
How it is built
The fabric is a 5 mil triple laminated polyethylene with heat sealed seams. The hem has a polypropylene cord sewn into it for strength, an aluminum grommet sits in each corner, and 2 in by 12 in water tube loops run every four feet along the edge.
Solid versus mesh
A solid cover blocks sunlight completely, which is what stops algae growing in a closed pool, and it keeps dirt and rain out of the water instead of filtering them through. The trade off is that everything the cover catches stays on top of it, so a cover pump is part of the routine all winter.
Closing with it
Lay the cover so the overlap is even, then set water tubes through the loops the whole way around. Tubes that are only part filled will not hold a cover through a windy night, and a cover that lifts is a cover that tears at the grommets.
