Product details

This is a solid rectangular winter cover for a 30' x 50' inground pool, cut 35' x 55' so it carries a 5 ft overlap on every side. It is warranted for 10 years under the Royal program.

How it is built

The fabric is a 5 mil triple laminated polyethylene with heat sealed seams. The hem has a polypropylene cord sewn into it for strength, an aluminum grommet sits in each corner, and 2 in by 12 in water tube loops run every four feet along the edge.

Solid versus mesh

A solid cover blocks sunlight completely, which is what stops algae growing in a closed pool, and it keeps dirt and rain out of the water instead of filtering them through. The trade off is that everything the cover catches stays on top of it, so a cover pump is part of the routine all winter.

Closing with it

Lay the cover so the overlap is even, then set water tubes through the loops the whole way around. Tubes that are only part filled will not hold a cover through a windy night, and a cover that lifts is a cover that tears at the grommets.

What size pool is this cover for?
A 30' x 50' rectangular inground pool. The cover is cut 35' x 55', so it lays 5 ft past the edge on every side.
Are water tubes included?
The cover carries 2 in by 12 in loops every four feet for water tubes. The tubes themselves are a separate item, so check what came with your closing kit.
Is this solid or mesh?
Solid. Water and debris sit on top rather than draining through, which is why a cover pump belongs on it over the winter.
How is the edge reinforced?
A polypropylene cord is sewn into the hem the whole way around and there is an aluminum grommet in each corner.
