Product details

The Jandy R0442600 is the complete grid set for the DEV60 DE filter. It is the genuine Jandy assembly: seven full size grids and one partial, 30 in. tall, making up the 60 sq ft element.

Why the whole set

Grids are the surface the diatomaceous earth clings to. Over years of backwashing and recharging, the fabric thins and eventually splits. When one grid goes, the rest are usually close behind, which is why the set is sold complete rather than by the piece.

The symptom

DE finding its way back into the pool is the sign owners notice first, typically a fine white powder on the floor after the filter has been recharged. Cracked manifolds cause the same thing, so it is worth inspecting the manifold while the tank is open.

Fitment

This set is for the Jandy DEV60. Confirm the model on the filter label before ordering, since the grid height differs between DE filter sizes.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

How many grids are in the set?
Eight pieces: seven full size grids and one partial grid.
What size filter is this for?
The Jandy DEV60, a 60 sq ft DE filter. The grids are 30 in. tall.
Should I replace all the grids or just the torn one?
A full set is the usual choice. The grids in a filter have all seen the same hours, so a single new grid next to seven tired ones tends to be followed by another failure.
How do I know the grids have failed?
DE coming back into the pool is the classic sign, usually as a fine powder on the floor shortly after the filter is recharged.
