The Pentair 744000330 is the red ORP sensor for the Acu-Trol AK110 and AK600 commercial chemical controllers. It is the genuine Pentair part.
What the sensor does
ORP, oxidation reduction potential, is the measure of how hard the sanitizer in the water is actually working. A chemical controller reads it continuously and uses it to decide when to feed. Everything the controller does downstream rests on that one number being right.
Probes wear out
An ORP probe is a consumable. Its response slows and its readings drift with age and exposure to pool water, and past a certain point cleaning and recalibration stop bringing it back. On a commercial system, where a controller runs unattended between service visits, a probe that has quietly gone out of tolerance is worse than no probe at all.
