Product details

The Hayward GLX-PROBE-ORP is the replacement ORP probe for the Goldline Sense and Dispense chemical automation system. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What the probe does

ORP stands for oxidation reduction potential, and it is the measurement the controller uses to judge how hard the sanitizer in the water is working. Sense and Dispense reads the probe and decides from that reading whether to feed. Everything the system does downstream rests on that number being right.

When to replace it

An ORP probe is a consumable. The sensing surface fouls, the response slows, and readings start to drift away from what a test kit says. Cleaning and recalibration buy back some of it for a while. When they stop working, the probe is finished and the controller is dosing on bad information until it is changed.
