The Pentair 744000260 is the replacement pH sensor for the Acu-Trol AK110 and AK600 commercial chemical controllers. It detects the alkalinity and acidity of the pool water and reports it back to the controller.
What it does
A chemical controller is only as good as the probes feeding it. The pH sensor is the input the controller uses to decide when to add acid or base, so once the probe starts to drift the controller keeps dosing confidently on numbers that are no longer true. That shows up as pH that swings wide between service visits, or a controller reading that no longer agrees with a hand test.
Fitting and service life
This is the genuine Pentair sensor for these two controllers, made for direct installation in place of the existing probe. Probes are consumable by nature: cleaning and recalibration buy time, but a sensor that will not hold calibration is due for replacement.
