Product details

The Hayward Sense and Dispense pH Probe, GLX-PROBE-PH, is the replacement pH sensing probe for the Hayward Sense and Dispense chemistry automation system. It is the Brand OEM Hayward part, and it is the pH probe only: the system's ORP probe is a separate part, GLX-PROBE-ORP.

How it works

Sense and Dispense measures the water passing through its flow cell with two electrical probes, one for pH and one for ORP. Per Hayward's troubleshooting guide, the pH probe plugs into the top terminal and the ORP probe into the bottom one. Hayward's compatibility chart lists the OmniLogic, the ProLogic series and the AquaRite Pro series, and the guide names ProLogic version 3.0 or greater, Aqua Plus version 3.0 or greater and AquaRite Pro.

Care and replacement

Hayward recommends cleaning the probes at least once every three months on a residential pool. The tips must stay wet at all times, because a probe that dries out is permanently damaged, and the probes should come out and be kept wet over winter. Slow response to chemistry changes, a growing need to calibrate pH and inconsistent readings are Hayward's warning signs. If cleaning and recalibration do not clear a pH probe error, Hayward's guide says to replace the probe that matches the error, which for pH is GLX-PROBE-PH.

Before you order

Recalibrate the pH probe whenever it has been cleaned or replaced. Sense and Dispense probes are listed under both the Goldline and Hayward names, and GLX-PROBE-PH is the current Hayward number.
