Product details

The S.R. Smith FLED-C-FG is a 12VAC, 5 watt color changing LED underwater light for new construction fiberglass pools, supplied with an 80 ft cord. It mounts through a 2-3/8 in. hole in the pool wall and needs no earth bonding.

Colors and control

On a standard 12V supply the light moves to its next mode each time the power is switched off and on within a second: soft color change, white, blue, green, red, amber, magenta and flash color change. It remembers the last mode used, and a color sync reset brings several lights back into step. With a poolLUX Premier controller it adds 49 color variations and dimming from a wireless remote.

Installation

Cut a 2-3/8 to 2-1/2 in. hole, seat the fitting with its rubber seal against the inside of the wall and tighten the nut without overdoing it. The cord runs through 1/2 in. or 3/4 in. PVC conduit to an isolating 12VAC power supply, never to 120VAC. S.R. Smith lists the light for use from 4 in. below the normal water level, with the best coverage at 10 to 12 in. down. For winter, lower the water below the light and drain its housing.

Choosing a version

FLED-C-FG is the 80 ft color model; S.R. Smith also makes it with 30, 50 and 150 ft cords, plus a white LED version, FLED-W-FG. It is ETL listed to UL 676 and CSA C22.2 #89 with a 3 year warranty. It is a different light from the TREO, which fits standard 1.5 in. wall fittings.

S.R. Smith makes the FLED-C-FG for new construction fiberglass pools, where it mounts through a 2-3/8 in. hole in the wall. For a standard 1.5 in. wall fitting in a gunite, vinyl liner or fiberglass pool, S.R. Smith offers the TREO LED light, FLED-C-TR.
Which cord length of the FLED-C-FG do I need?
