The S.R. Smith 800-5065 is the plated small spur gear in the rotation motor assembly of PAL2, Splash! and PAL pool lifts.
Where it fits
The PAL2 and PAL2 Hi/Lo, the Splash!, Splash! 300, Splash! Hi/Lo and Spa, Splash! Extended Reach and Extended Reach Hi/Lo, and the CEC compliant PAL and PAL Hi/Lo and Spa parts lists all name 800-5065. The aXs2 list does not.
What it does
S.R. Smith describes the rotation motor assembly as a mounting plate, the 24 V motor 120-1100 and this small gear. The hub assembly carries the large gear, and the lift turns at a 9:1 gearing ratio. On the PAL2, loosening the nut on the tension spring beside the turning motor disengages the gears so the lift can be turned by hand.
Care
The manuals call for spraying the gear assembly with a heavy duty rust inhibitor and lubricant as routine care, and again before the lift goes into storage.
