Product details
Super Stain Treat from United Chemical Corporation is a pool stain remover supplied in a 2.5 pound container. The labeled rate is 2.5 pounds per 15,000 gallons, so one container treats a 15,000 gallon pool.
What it is for
It is a stain removal product, formulated for the stubborn discoloration that ordinary brushing and shocking do not lift. It is listed for in ground pools in both residential and commercial service.
Working out the dose
Start with your actual pool volume rather than a rounded guess, then dose at 2.5 pounds per 15,000 gallons. Follow the directions printed on the container: stain treatments interact with water chemistry, and the label sets out the conditions the product expects.
After the stain is gone
Treating a stain and preventing the next one are separate problems. Stains that come back are usually being fed by something still in the water or still sitting on the surface, so it is worth identifying what caused the mark before the pool is dosed a second time.
