Product details

Hasa liquid chlorine pool shock, supplied as a case of four one gallon jugs of 12.5 percent sodium hypochlorite.

Why liquid

Liquid chlorine goes to work the moment it hits the water. There is nothing to pre-dissolve, nothing to broadcast, and nothing left on the floor to bleach a vinyl liner or a plaster surface. At 12.5 percent it is around double the strength of household bleach, so the dose per gallon of product is meaningful even on a large pool.

No stabilizer

It is unstabilized. That matters most on pools that are shocked often: stabilized granular products add cyanuric acid every time you use them, and by late season the water needs more and more chlorine to do the same work. Liquid chlorine sidesteps that entirely.

Add it with the pump running and allow a full turnover before swimming. Store the case upright, cool and out of direct sun, because liquid chlorine loses strength with heat and time.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

How much chlorine is in it?
It is 12.5 percent sodium hypochlorite, which is around twice the concentration of household bleach.
What comes in a case?
Four one gallon jugs.
Does it raise cyanuric acid?
No. Liquid chlorine is unstabilized, so it will not push your cyanuric acid up the way stabilized granular products do over a season.
How should it be added?
With the pump running, poured slowly around the perimeter of the deep end, and given a full turnover before anyone swims. Store the jugs cool, upright and out of sunlight, since liquid chlorine loses strength as it sits.
