This is a blue and silver Spaceage solar cover cut for a 16 foot by 32 foot rectangular pool, in an 8 mil thickness and backed by a 5 year warranty.

How it heats

The cover is loaded with thermal bubbles that hold heat in the water overnight and on cool, cloudy days, and the blue and silver Spaceage color is chosen to pass as much solar energy as possible into the pool. The manufacturer rates the gain at up to 15 degrees F. The more hours a day the cover is on the water, the more of that gain you actually keep.

Built to last a few seasons

At 8 mil this is a heavier cover than an entry level blanket, and the material is UV protected so it holds up under strong sun rather than going brittle in a single summer. The 5 year warranty reflects that.

Sizing

Buy to the pool size, not to the cover you have now. Covers are commonly trimmed back to the water line once they are floated for the first time.
