How a solar cover earns its keep

Most of the heat a pool loses goes off the surface overnight. The thermal bubbles in this cover sit against the water and hold that heat in, on cool cloudy days as well as after dark. The Spaceage blue and silver color is chosen to let the maximum amount of solar energy through to the water rather than absorbing it in the cover, and the manufacturer rates the gain at up to 15 degrees F.

Built to last a few seasons

At 8 mil this is a heavier blanket than the thin covers that come apart after a summer, and the material is UV protected so intense sun does not break it down. That is what the 5 year warranty is built on.

Fitting and use

Float it bubbles down. If your pool is close to 12 by 24 but not exact, the blanket can be trimmed to shape with scissors. Cut it slightly large and take material off in stages rather than all at once.

The manufacturer rates these covers at up to 15 degrees F of gain. Real numbers depend on sun, wind and how consistently the cover goes back on.

Is this for an in ground or an above ground pool?
