The Poolstyle WTB-1020 is an equalizer pillow measuring 4.5 feet by 15 feet, used as an in ground pool winterizing accessory.
What it is for
An equalizer pillow floats on the water underneath the winter cover. When the surface freezes and the ice expands, the pillow compresses and takes that pressure instead of the pool structure. It also lifts the middle of the cover, so rain, snowmelt and debris drain toward the perimeter rather than pooling in the center.
At closing time
Inflate the pillow part way rather than fully, position it before the cover goes on, and it will do its job through the season. A pillow that is packed tight has no room left to compress when the ice moves.
