Maytronics Dolphin Manifold Assembly, 9991730

The Maytronics 9991730 is the manifold assembly used across a large part of the Dolphin robotic cleaner range, from the Triton PS and PS Plus through the S200 and S300 to the Proteus, Quantum, Discovery, Premium and T series machines. It is also the manifold in the Pentair Prowler 920 and 930, which Maytronics builds.

What it does

Inside a Dolphin, the pump motor drives water through a fixed path: in through the intake, past the filter media, and out through the top. The manifold is the piece that defines that path. Everything the cleaner picks up depends on the water going where the manifold sends it.

Why they fail

Manifolds crack at the seams, warp with heat, or lose their sealing faces after years of grit passing through. The symptom is a cleaner that drives its pattern normally and comes out of the pool with a nearly empty filter, because water is bypassing the media instead of being forced through it. If the filter, impeller and brushes all check out and pickup is still poor, the manifold is the next thing to look at.
