What the active brush does
A robotic cleaner does not vacuum a clean floor. It scrubs first, and the active brush is what does that scrubbing, lifting film and fine dirt into suspension so the filter can catch it on the same pass. When the brush wears down, the cleaner still drives its pattern and still fills its filter, but the walls and floor keep a haze that nobody can account for.
