Product details
Taylor R-0002-A is DPD reagent #2, supplied in a .75 oz dropper bottle. It is the refill for the DPD sanitizer test in Taylor pool and spa test kits.
How DPD testing works
DPD is not a single drop test. The numbered reagents are added in sequence, each one doing its part to develop the color the sanitizer reading is read from. Because they work together, a tired bottle anywhere in the set drags the whole result off, which is why the numbers are sold individually and replaced as they run low.
Keeping results honest
Taylor advises replacing reagents roughly every year. When a kit that has always agreed with a pool store starts disagreeing, the age of the reagents is the first thing to check.
