Product details
The Lasco Fittings V10491N is a 1 inch slip x slip compact ball valve in PVC. Both ends are slip sockets, so it solvent welds straight into 1 inch pipe.
The design
This is a commercial molded in place valve, which is where the MIP in the name comes from. The compact, lightweight body suits an equipment pad where there is not much room between fittings, and the valve keeps good flow characteristics for its size. It is bi-directional, so there is no inlet or outlet to get wrong when you plumb it in.
Quality control
Lasco boxes each valve individually and leak tests every one before it leaves the factory, which matters on a part that gets glued permanently into a pipe run.
Installing it
Dry fit the valve into the run first and confirm the handle can swing clear of the pipes and equipment around it. Once it is solvent welded there is no adjusting the orientation, and a valve you cannot turn is no better than no valve at all.
