Product details
The Lasco V20491N is a 2 inch PVC ball valve with slip sockets on both ends, from the 491 compact series described by Lasco as a molded in place commercial compact valve. It is white PVC and rated at 150 psi.
Where it goes
Ball valves earn their keep either side of the equipment. A valve before the pump and one after the filter means the pad can be opened for a basket, a seal or a cartridge without draining the pool back through the lines. In a 2 inch system this is the standard size.
Fitting it
Both ports are slip, so the valve is solvent welded into the pipe rather than threaded. That makes for a permanent, leak free joint, and it also means the valve stays in the line, so choose its position with future service in mind.
A note on the description
The manufacturer title carries the SCH80 designation while the detail sheet lists the valve as white PVC rated at 150 psi. Both readings are given above as supplied.
