The SuperPro SP0801-20H2 is a 2 inch CPVC check valve with slip connections on both ends and a 1/2 lb corrosion resistant spring.
Why the CPVC body matters
CPVC tolerates higher water temperature than standard PVC, which is what makes this valve suitable for the hot side of a system rather than only cold return lines. If the valve you are replacing sits anywhere the water runs warm, a CPVC body is the right choice.
The spring
A 1/2 lb spring is on the light side by design, so the valve opens with very little head pressure and costs you almost nothing in flow. The spring is also the part of any check valve most likely to give out in treated pool water, and this one is built to resist corrosion.
Fitting it
Both ends are 2 inch slip, so the valve solvent welds straight into a run of 2 inch pipe. Note the flow direction marked on the body before you glue it in, because a check valve installed backwards will block the line.
